Baby's Room

We are getting down to the finishing touches on the baby's room. Once it's completely finished we'll post a complete tour, but until then, we thought you might enjoy seeing some of our favorite things so far.

We bought this crib online. It converts to a toddler bed and ultimately a head and foot board for a Full bed. I decided around 10pm one night that we just had to put it together right away. Craig was less than thrilled at this idea...especially when I sat on the floor eating Cookies And Cream ice cream and barking out (sometimes incorrect) instructions.

We found this changing table on Craigslist. We were going to use a dresser we had and paint it but it was a little too low so when we saw this, we jumped on it. It used to be cherry stained wood with brass pulls but we (Craig) painted it to match the crib and replaced the knobs with nickel ones.

This glider is another Craigslist find. We had to drive down to Santa Barbara to get it but the family that we got it from was adorable and happy to see it go to a new family. It must have been destined for baby's room because the pattern just happened to match the paint in the room exactly. We hope it will make for a good bedtime story chair too. I've almost rocked myself to sleep on several occasions already so I think baby will enjoy it too.

One of Craig's favorite children's books is "Where The Wild Things Are" (he has already asked me to make him a Max costume complete with crown and scepter for Halloween but that's another post). The colors were perfect for baby's room so I framed some of our favorite pages from the book. Obviously when the wild things make Max king is included.

Craig wanted baby to have her first "pigskin" and was super excited to find this pig/football toy at a baby store in Santa Barbara. The best part is that the pig makes noises when you squeeze it- not a cute "oink, oink" though. It squeals like a pig going to slaughter. Hopefully baby has a good sense of humor.

We'll share more soon to keep you entertained until we have some baby pictures!

Love,
MAC and Craig
