Thanksgiving Week with Daddy and Uncle Nick

Auntie Emi taught Grayson a new fun trick this week.  Now when she sees Emi, Grayson automatically starts making the sound.

Giggling Grayson

Grayson has given us a few little giggles here and there but has recently started laughing.  It is very sporadic and sometimes a tickle or something funny will elicit the giggle one day but not the next.  Daddy has only gotten an occasional giggle so he was very excited when Grayson got all giggly this evening.

Grayson loves (to eat) books

Grayson has really started to enjoy our evening story time.  She is super helpful with turning (and chewing on) the pages.

Grayson goes bananas

Grayson had her first taste of bananas this week.  Now that she has experienced fruits and veggies, she is totally over rice cereal.  So many more flavors to discover, why waste time with bland cereal?

Peas!

Grayson had her first taste of vegetables this week.  We started with peas and I'm pretty sure she liked it.  Her expression is somewhat hesitant but she continued to open her mouth for more so it couldn't have been that bad.

Sitting Up!

Grayson is getting really strong and is very close to sitting up by herself.

Little Animal

We took Grayson to the Santa Barbara Zoo today.  It was her first Zoo experience and my first visit to the Santa Barbara Zoo.  Since Grayson is so into her "animal friends," we thought she might enjoy seeing them in real life.

Solid Food

Grayson started eating solid food last week and seems to be enjoying it.  Here are some photos from her first rice cereal experience!

Then we let her wash it down with a little taste of the Rockies...just kidding.

Chatty Grayson

Just this week Grayson has started "talking" to us.  She is pretty selective about when she will do it but once she gets going, she's extremely chatty.  In this particular video, she seemed to be giving her animals a piece of her mind.  Especially that noisy giraffe.

Bathtime!

Grayson is still a huge fan of bathtime.  It is her favorite thing to do by far and we get a good kick out of her excitement too.

When she first gets in, she's a little apprehensive.  We take this opportunity to wash her hair and get her all clean while she's not moving around too much.

Then she remembers how much fun the bath is, takes a deep breath, and gets splashing.

She's constantly looking at Craig and I as if to say, "Am I doing it right?"

Football Season Begins!

We are so excited for Grayson's first football season!  She has been going to the weight room with Daddy all summer and is very impressed with the progress the players have made.

Pebble Beach #2

We took our second family vacation to Pebble Beach last weekend to meet Uncle Nick and Aunt Emily. We had a great time!

We have had such a busy summer!  Here are some photos from July...

I love my Daddy!

I stare at my Dad constantly.  If Mommy comes to get me from my crib, I watch the door to see if Dad will come too.

I still love riding in my Moby.  Pretty soon I will be big enough to face out and see more of the world!

Craig's First Father's Day

We went to Pebble Beach last weekend with Grammy Wendy to celebrate Craig's first Father's Day. We had a great time at the US Open and visiting with Grammy Pat and Pop Pop. Grayson seemed to really enjoy her first golf experience and slept pretty much the entire time all snuggled up in her Moby. She was also very excited that she got to meet her cousin, Jack! We were bummed that we couldn't take photos at the event but we thought you might enjoy some photos of Grayson in her new US Open outfit.

Grayson's First Month

We can't believe that we have had little Grayson in our family for a month already! It seems like we've had her forever and that we brought her home just yesterday at the same time. She is already getting bigger and has changed so much in just a month. She is getting even better at holding her head up by herself and her grasp is a lot stronger. The best thing is that she is able to focus on our faces more and hold eye contact with us and will turn her head to look at us if she hears our voices.

She is sleeping really well and only gets up twice a night. We owe this in part to the swaddle me wrap aka "The Baby Straightjacket" as Daddy calls it. She looks like she has been committed or that she is on her way to disarm some sort of explosive device but we think she really likes it and she seems to sleep much better all swaddled up.
